  • No, insurances are not currently accepted. Therapy with Kelsey is a private pay only practice.

However, superbills can be provided for reimbursement through your insurance company. Most insurance companies that cover mental health services will provide reimbursement for sessions fees when provided with a superbill. You will have to call your insurance to confirm reimbursement.

  • A superbill is a document that Therapy with Kelsey can provide after your session or at the end of the month. It lists the services you received, along with the associated costs and any relevant diagnosis codes. If you have out-of-network insurance benefits, you can submit the superbill to your insurance company to request reimbursement for sessions. While Therapy with Kelsey does not bill insurance directly, this gives you the option to potentially receive coverage for part or all of your session fees, depending on your plan.

Here are some questions to ask your health insurance:

    • Do I have out-of-network benefits for mental health services?

    • What percentage of the session fee will be reimbursed for out-of-network providers?

    • Is there a deductible I need to meet before reimbursement begins?

    • How do I submit the superbill, and what is the timeline for processing?

    • Are there any limits on the number of sessions?

  • Yes, telehealth appointments are offered as well as in office appointments.

  • Effective January 1, 2022, a ruling went into effect called the “No Surprises Act,” which requires mental health practitioners to provide a “Good Faith Estimate” about out-of-network care to any patient who is uninsured or who is insured but does not plan to use their insurance benefits to pay for health care items or services.

The Good Faith Estimate works to show the cost of services that are reasonably expected for your mental health care needs, based on information known at the time. Your actual cost of services will depend upon the number of psychotherapy sessions you attend, your individual circumstances, and the type and amount of services that are provided to you.

You are entitled to receive this “Good Faith Estimate” of what the charges could be for psychotherapy services provided to you.
